Knowledge base import options

This article is designed to guide you through the process of importing your knowledge base into Inline Help and suggest options that can be used for successful import.


Importing just specific paths/folders

Consider having content across multiple paths. For example:

https://example.com/all-articles

https://example.com/all-articles/article-test

https://example.com/podcasts

https://example.com/podcasts/podcast-test


You want to exclude all the other paths, including the main domain https://example.com


Select Public Website as the Knowledge source.


In the URL enter

https://example.com/all-articles


Then use URL pattern to include
https://example.com/{all-articles,all-articles/**,podcast/**}


This will import all the content from those paths only.


Invalid/Non-matching canonical URLs

If the knowledge base has invalid canonical URLs, the import process might skip these pages.

If that is the case, either our support team already got in touch with you or please reach out to us so we can change the default settings for you to be able to import these flawlessly.
